EMIRATES ADDS 6TH FLIGHT BETWEEN DUBAI AND MADAGASCAR
Emirates announces the increase in its flight frequencies between Dubai and Madagascar, passing from 4 to 6 weekly flights from April 2025. This initiative aims to support the growth of tourism and strengthen trade between the two regions..
Emirates : Increase in flight frequency between Dubai-Antananarivo
The increase in frequencies comes after the launch of the first flight between Dubai and Madagascar, the 3 September 2024. This connection quickly positioned Antananarivo as an important crossroads between the Indian Ocean and the Middle East.. According to the Ministry of Transport and Meteorology, about 4 000 passengers use this route every month. This increase in the number of flights improves air connectivity and helps attract more tourists and investors to Madagascar.
In December 2024, the introduction of an additional flight made it possible to transport approximately 1500 passengers every week. This is close to 6 000 monthly travelers. This growth reflects the growing interest in Madagascar, both on the tourist and commercial side. According to Valéry Ramonjavelo, Minister of Transport and Meteorology, it is now crucial to develop infrastructure and services across the country. This is to encourage visitors to extend their stay and take full advantage of the attractions of Madagascar..
Emirates boosts tourism and business in Madagascar
Essa Sulaiman Ahmad, Emirates representative, highlights that this expansion opens up new opportunities. “Each additional flight is now a bridge that connects the ambitions of travelers and the needs of businesses”. This initiative allows Madagascar to better connect to international markets. The increase in air supply constitutes a key axis of this strategy, by allowing the Madagascar destination to gain visibility and attractiveness. Term, this initiative will help diversify sources of income for the country while creating jobs and supporting sustainable tourism, respectful of the environment and local resources.
In parallel, Malagasy authorities have announced the rehabilitation of the main national tourist routes, such as the RN2, RN4 and RN7, before the July holidays 2025. This work will be financed by the 500 billions of ariary already collected by the Road Fund, as specified by the Minister of Public Works. This rehabilitation will contribute to improving the accessibility of the country, thus strengthening its tourist attractiveness.
This increase in flights constitutes a lever for the tourism and economic development of Madagascar, stimulating the local economy and strengthening the country's visibility on the global stage.
