Eid al-Fitr is the Muslim holiday marking the breaking of the fast in the month of Ramadan. It is celebrated on the first day of the month of Shawwal..

What do we celebrate ?

This is to mark the breaking of the fast observed during the holy month of Ramadan., who started on 11 March 2024. This celebration can be followed by exchanges of wishes, pastries, tea and small gifts.

Eid prayer takes place early in the morning. And this is carried out in a mosque, or outdoors. During this prayer, this allows us to gather more faithful. It must be common.

Traditionally, believers put on new clothes, give each other gifts and pay alms, the zakat ul-fitr, intended for the poor. Its amount is subject to various estimates.

Relationship between the month of Ramadan and zakat’ul fitr

Ramadan is one of the most important months for the believer, a month during which we have the duty tohelp the poorest and strengthen bonds of solidarity between community members.

The Zakat ul-Fitr is a obligatory alms paid to the nice you Ramadan, constituting one of the fundamental pillars of Islam. Before the Eid ul-Fitr prayer, each head of family is required to fulfill this obligation for himself and for each of his dependents, including babies and those who have not fasted. This contribution aims to purify the fasters and enable the most deprived to celebrate Eid with joy.

Who to give Zakat to ?

The Zakat ul-Fitr is intended for people in precarious situations. It is therefore intended for the poor, the orphans, and the widows. By targeting these groups, Zakat allows those most in need to celebrate l’Eïd ul-Fitr without being burdened by financial concerns.

When to give Zakat ?

Before the prayer of the Eïd’ul Fitr, Zakat’ul Fitr must be paid. This timing is crucial to ensure that alms reach beneficiaries in time for Eid celebrations.

We wish a happy Eid Mubarak to all Muslims and particularly to our Muslim friends in Majunga.
