Discussion on the opening of direct Paris and Reunion – Mahajanga lines

Senior officials of Madagascar Airlines, in particular the PCA and the CEO of the company had a very interesting meeting with the tourist operators of Mahajanga. This meeting took place yesterday, 05 September 2022. Discussions on the reopening of the direct Paris and Reunion – Mahajanga lines, with other national lines to Majunga were the subject of the meeting.

The Governor of the Boeny Region, Andriantomanga Moukhtar Salim called on the tourist operators of Mahajanga for a meeting with the President of the Board of Directors and the Managing Director of Madagascar Airlines.

A meeting whose main objective was the development of tourism in the Boeny region, and that of the activities of Madagascar Airlines.

The reason for the meeting was also’improve air links between Mahajanga and other regions of Madagascar, as well as on international lines, especially Reunion, the France, Mayotte, and Comoros.

Madagascar Airlines has thus listened to the tourist operators of Majunga who have always asked for more services at its airport..

« Know that you are expected, and that studies will be put in place to have more flights on Majunga. The Boeny region is a tourist destination worthy of the name, because you have a lot to offer. You have tsingys, des flammants roses, whales, caves, … » said Mme Rinah RAKOTOMANGA, PCA de Madagascar Airlines.

Direct flight Paris – Mahajanga

Madagascar Airlines is even considering direct Paris – Mahajanga flights by next year.

Promotional flights with package prices (return air tickets with accommodation) at a promotional price will also be set up.

Tourism operators including hoteliers, restorers, guides, tour operators and transport agencies, also requested a direct flight Reunion-Mahajanga. Due to insufficient number of aircraft, the company cannot operate this line immediately.

Pending, it is possible to reach Mahajanga from Reunion via Antananarivo.

On the other hand, the company will have a new jet with a capacity of 110 people by the end of the year or next year.

This jet will ensure the direct line to Paris – Mahajanga. Tourism operators and the Madagascar Airlines company have found a hold in an attempt to sell the Boeny destination.
