1060 euros round trip with Madagascar Airlines
Madagascar Airlines has released its prices. 1060 euros for the Paris-Antananarivo return ticket in economy class and 1035 euros for the Antananarivo-Paris direction.
“We are indeed snapping up tickets but there are still some. It is entirely possible to combine flights to arrive in Antananarivo” positive the travel agency.
Also, if seats are no longer available on Air France or prove to be too expensive, passengers can look at Air Austral or Air Mauritius which operate Paris-Réunion or Paris-Mauritius routes and take another flight from these regions to Antananarivo.
Air France : tickets are in high demand
Since the announcement of the gradual opening of Malagasy borders, tickets to Antananarivo from Paris are highly sought after.
The company website Air France encountered bugs for hours. It was immediately after the announcement of the opening of the Malagasy skies on 13 last October. …In just one week, the craze for a trip to Madagascar is such that there is no more space available at the time of writing, on board Air France.
“There are no more places for the whole month of November, except for Business class. We are now starting to sell tickets for the month of December,” informs the Cap Madagascar travel agency., based in Paris.
In the middle of this week, passengers even had the unpleasant surprise of seeing their flights canceled. “I have already bought a ticket to Antananarivo for 1600 euros and the next day around 6 p.m., I received an email from the company announcing that the flight is canceled and that they are offering to either modify or cancel the flight” says Hervé B.
Combination
France flights – Madagascar canceled for technical reasons of “rotation” we learn. Flights are only possible on Mondays and Saturdays for this company.
Now, everything seems to be back to normal and there are no more bugs. Prices are displayed and online reservations are possible but for departures in December. Prices are rising as a round trip costs nearly 2200 euros for this period.
Which is expensive compared to tickets for November flights sold between 900 and 1600 euros for economy class.
Borders already open towards a “Safe” destination
The first commercial flight takes place today after twenty months of closure of Madagascar's borders. The authorities promise a “Safe” Madagascar destination.
An Air Mauritius flight will open the show today at 2 p.m. 15. Preparations lasted weeks to best complete the resumption of regional and international flights.. Just yesterday, the Ministries of Tourism and Health, the Director General of the Treasury at the Ministry of the Economy and Finance, Madagascar Civil Aviation (Acm) and Ravinala Airports, were at the airport for a final update.
France flights – Madagascar : the Fnormalities
First of all, there is the collection of tickets at the entrance to the terminal to be able to carry out the PCR tests.. The payment of 25 euros per each passenger for the test, which can be done in currency, in ariary or on TPE. Blood collection from health personnel, payment of the visa fee, Police control, baggage claim, control of the customs service, payment of 3 euros for the shuttle service to hotels authorized for quarantine.
And finally the control of the Gendarmerie. “It is impossible to avoid this whole process. Passengers will be followed to the shuttles and to the hotels,” reassured the Minister of Tourism, Joel Randriamandranto.
Which specifies that the direct collection of the cost of PCR tests at the airport level is a transitional measure. “The inclusion of this cost of PCR tests in plane tickets is an ongoing project. Details will be communicated later” it is emphasized.
Madagascar has received ICAO approval for the gradual reopening of its airspace. Compliance with hygiene and health protocols guarantees the non-spread of the coronavirus.
“With all these measures, we reassure issuing markets that Madagascar is a “safe” destination. The operators received training on health protocols applied to the Tourism profession,” underlined Joël Randriamandranto.
