Deconfinement expected in Madagascar
In recent days, the phase of decline is confirmed and continues. And deconfinement is expected in Madagascar, by the majority of the population. President Andry Rajoelina will hold an allowance tomorrow Sunday 23 August 2020.
Decline in active coronavirus cases
The numbers keep falling, in the capital Antananarivo as well as in other cities affected by coronavirus.
Today, Professor Vololontiana Hanta announced only 59 new cases, 126 cures and no coronavirus-related deaths 24 hours. And yesterday, there was 64 new confirmed cases 1 deaths related to this pandemic.
Finally, it should be noted that the total number of tests carried out in the country is 59 783 whose 54 91 PCR tests and 5. 092 GENEXPERT tests. And the cumulative number of cases of covid-19 since the beginning of the epidemic has so far amounted to 14 277 whose 13 332 Healings, 767 treatment and treatment 178 Death. And among the 767 people in treatment, 80 have serious forms.
These figures seem far from the realities of a month ago when there were several hundred people infected a day. Indeed, the pace where things are going, Madagascar could succeed in defeating COVID-19 in the near term.
It should be noted, however, that for the time being, we are far from being out of the hostel. Strict adherence to barrier gestures is always the order of the day, especially in Antananarivo and other regions where there are still new cases of, including the Boeny region.
Many expect a deconfe of
Anyway, this Sunday we begin a new extension of the state of health emergency under the COVID-19.
As in the usual, a Council of Ministers will have to be held on the same day to take the decision on the extension of the state of health emergency over the entire territory of Madagascar. And this, after the usual consultation with the Heads of Institutions and the Academy of Medicines.
President Andry Rajoelina will give a much-anticipated speech tomorrow evening in which he will announce the new measures.
Many observers expect a deconfinement.
Resuming operations
Tired of 5 months of health crisis, people demand more freedom.
This crisis has completely affected the household economy. The resumption of operations is strongly demanded, especially for national and regional transport, as well as taxi-bes who have not worked for several months.
This week, a meeting with the Land Transport Agency (Att) was organized. "In preparation for the resumption of operations", Has it been suggested.
It remains to be seen whether all these cries of distress from the operators were heard by the Executive, knowing that de-confining means a high risk of contamination if barriers are not followed. Accompanying measures must indeed be taken to avoid further re-containment. (MidiMadagasikaraDu2/08/20)
