New measures put in place by Air Austral

Claire Taba­kian, Executive Commercial Director of Air Austral, announces new measures put in place by the company. This is to respond to requests from the Mayotte Citizens' Collective regarding the prices of flights departing from Mayotte..

Already, the company's two Dreamliner aircraft are exclusively dedicated to Mayotte for flights to Paris, in order to meet the growing demand of the Mahorais. Nine weekly rotations during peak periods are thus available.

Measures taken to meet the needs of passengers

A working group was formed within Air Austral. It should soon offer new solutions for the scenarios put forward by the company.

First steps will be taken to meet passengers' needs. Particularly in the context of travel for medical reasons or in the event of the bereavement of a loved one occurring in Reunion or mainland France, obligatory to undertake a journey.

Delicate situations that have been seen

Regarding delicate bereavement situations requiring urgent departure, a “Bereaved family” offer is already available. De 360 € for a trip to Mayotte – The meeting and 914 € for a flight to Paris, which is much cheaper than buying an emergency ticket, where the price can be double.

For medical travel needs, particularly in the event of medical evacuation, a dedicated unit has been set up. In connection with insurance companies, the tickets purchased in this case would then be covered by the system. Which is still far from responding to the entire problem of the population's needs for treatment.. But this is the beginning of an answer.

Regarding promotional offers, like those in progress with “piled” offers, offered at promotional rates of 288 € for Reunion and 756 € for Paris, they will be more frequent.
