Contes et légendes de Madagascar : Dieu et le cœur noble

Tales and legends of Madagascar : God and the noble heart by Hotel ★★★ Restaurant gourmand coconut Lodge Majunga.

And here's the poor child, without property, without fortunes, without parents and without friends, wandering from hut to hut, driven from everywhere and having no other hope than in the help of the merciful God.

We had told Totosidy that this God existed somewhere and that we had to find him to have his grace. So he goes looking for her... He goes, he will, it crosses forests, valleys, mountains. It's dark and the unfortunate boy is at Totozamanidrao's, in this drunkard born, who prided himself on having drunk in fifty years, thirty thousand calabashes of betsabetsa – known record in the region –. Incidentally, he was a man with a noble and generous heart. The boy was wise, the frank drunkard, both poor and sincere. When the drunk did not alcohol, When the child wasn't talking about sobriety, When the conversation turned to God and his goodness, then it was an indescribable joy, inexhaustible. The morning, Toto asked his host where he ; the child explained that he was looking for God to ask help. -Ah ! the drunk says, If you meet him somewhere, ask him where my place will be after my death. -' Yes '., said the child.

And the boy went his way. He had to cross a pond populated by Cayman, He was afraid. The Caymans said : "Past"., young man, We won't hurt you '.. When he was on the other shore, He explained that he would seek God to ask his aid. -Ah ! The saurians told him, you see us here hungry, misérables. We wait for God's order. We do not know if it is permissible for us to eat oxen, dogs, or men. If you meet him somewhere, ask him what he allows us to eat. -' Yes '., said the child...

And the boy went his way. The night, he was with a believer. This believer, he was a man who prayed morning and evening, who spoke only of God, lady, of paradise, of celestial stay. He received his daily ration from God.

Totosidy was his host. Around eight o'clock in the evening, God sent two plates full of rice ; the believer left only a plate on the mat, half of which he made disappear again. Totosidy ate the little that was given to him. God sent then two beds, but the believer left Totosidy sleep on a mat. The child slept... And while he slumbered, the believer came back the plate full of rice, which he had hidden : He found that snakes. He then fetched the two beds of God : He lives, Instead, What a dirty mat... Without become cloudy, He knelt down, looked up to the sky, folded his hands on his chest and he is recommended to God, finding good this night to fast and to sleep on a mat torn as a sign of poverty.

The morning, the boy greeted his host. He said he would seek God to ask his aid. – If you meet him somewhere ask him where my place will be after my death, told him the believer. -' Yes '., said the child...

Totosidy went on his way. One day, he met an old man with a long beard who asked him where he was going. He replied that he was seeking God to expose his miseries to him.. God revealed himself, and the boy told him of his disgraces. He received a small package that he had to bury at the foot of a tamarind tree, east of his native village. Before going back, he asked all the questions he had been asked along the way. God told him that the believer would be thrown into hell, because he had a wicked heart ; that caimans were allowed to eat oxen, dogs and no men at least that the latter won't attack them (At the present time, the Cayman attack without mercy to men. Previously, they only ate oxen and dogs. But men are Avenged themselves by throwing Spears on the Cayman. Then the ban was lifted.) ; that the drunk would have its place reserved in heaven, because he had a generous heart.

On the way back, Totosidy informed the believer that his place would be in hell ; the Cayman, that they could eat beef, dogs, and some restrictions, men ; the drunk that he would be the one of the sky. In the village, he hid the package under the tamarind tree.
The next day, He was surprised to find a hundred jugs full of money. He got rich, loved by his brothers, adored by his sister, sung by friends, cleared of scabies and cured of rickets. It was called "Zoboke" (Big brother.) he remained good and charitable.
