Situation of JIRAMA in Majunga

Since a few weeks, Majunga experiences a general power outage and water cut. Almost all neighborhoods are without power for several hours a day, including strategic locations.

According to the interregional direction of JIRAMA Boeny, the outage results from a fuel shortage as the company's partners encounter problems transporting heavy fuel. This load shedding is applied in order to save fuel. The company also encounters a technical problem on their ENELEC machine. Unfortunately, power outage also affects water supply.
