Eid al-Fitr is an authentically sacred holiday in the Islam religion. The whole Coco Lodge Majunga team wishes a happy Eid el-Fitr holiday to all Muslims.

Aïd Moubarak

Eid al-Fitr is the first day of the Islamic month of Shawwal. It marks the end of Ramadan, which is a month of fasting and prayer. It is one of the holy holidays in Islam religion.

It is also sometimes called aïd as-Seghir "little party", as opposed to the’aïd al-Kebir, "the big party".

Many Muslims attend community prayers, listen to a khutba (sermon) and give zakat al-fitr during Eid al-Fitr.

Zakat al-fitr

At the end of the month of Ramadan, to validate and purify your fast, the Muslim must pay the Zakat al-Fitr (charity in the form of food).

This Zakât must be paid by each Muslim head of household (in general the father of the family) for him and for those dependent on him mandatory (women, children, elderly parents, etc.).
