Air : Return of Airlink to Madagascar

Airlink will resume flights to Madagascar. This resumption is imminent, communicated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs which reports the meeting between the head of Malagasy diplomacy, Richard Randriamandrato and the South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa here 06 July 2022.

After several months of suspension, the air link between South Africa and Madagascar will also resume.

Indeed, following the meeting of the head of Malagasy diplomacy, Richard Randriamandrato and the President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, the imminent resumption of direct air links between Madagascar and South Africa has been well confirmed. On the other hand, no details are yet available for this recovery but it should only be a matter of time.

Also, they discussed the bilateral cooperation between the two countries, and Madagascar's suspension of all flights to and from South Africa must have been at the heart of discussions.

Good news for tourism operators

Actually, this return of flights to and from South Africa should delight Malagasy tourism operators.

They asked a question about this recovery during a meeting of the Federation of Hoteliers and Restaurateurs of Madagascar (FHORM) with the Minister of Tourism in June. For Malagasy tourist operators, the resumption of links with South Africa should make it possible to “diversify outgoing tour operators and distribute travelers correctly”.
