Air : Flights between Madagascar and France

The French Embassy in Madagascar announces that the airline Air France is setting up a weekly rotation between Paris and Antananarivo. “Air : Flights between Madagascar and France”.

Special flights with Air France

According to a press release from the embassy which “continues its work of organizing special flights to and from Paris in close collaboration with Air France and the Malagasy authorities”, the French national company is putting in place until the end of April 2021 a weekly flight between the two capitals.

From Paris-CDG, Air France will take off at the end of the week (at the current stage of programming, Saturdays). And she will leave Antananarivo-Ivato on Mondays.

Requests made by the Embassy to the authorities currently cover all flights until the end of April.

This press release specifies that : “The passenger capacity is free on the Antananarivo – Paris segment. And we define it on a case-by-case basis with the Malagasy authorities on the Paris-Antananarivo segment.. »

People wishing to travel must contact the Air France agency (020 23 230 23, tour Zital). A global request will be submitted during April concerning flights in May.

Announcement from the Consular Advisor

The 06 April 2021, Jean-Hervé FRASLIN, Advisor to French people abroad elected in Madagascar, gives us practical and clear information on Facebook, as following :

• A weekly flight remains scheduled by Air France until the end of April, always subject to the agreement of the Malagasy authorities,
• We will only know the May program after 15 April,
• In the direction of Roissy Ivato (night from Saturday to Sunday), the number of seats marketable by Air France is limited to 50 passengers. And these must meet the eligibility criteria defined by the Malagasy authorities, in force since the end of January (national, residents, investors and workers authorized by MICA, diplomats, experts and volunteers authorized by the MAE, …). Otherwise, beyond this quota, places are only allocated by decision of the General Secretariat of the Presidency (SGP).
• And in the Ivato-Roissy direction, every Monday evening : arrival in Paris on Tuesday morning, without restriction for French people and their spouses (no more compelling reasons). Places are sold by the Air France agency (tour Zital Ankorondrano) and by telephone (020 23 230 23).
• An international travel certificate must be completed, to download on “ the website of the Ministry of the Interior ».
• You must present a certificate of negative result of a PCR test on a sample that you have carried out less than 72 hours before departure.

Air : Flights between Madagascar and France – and special flights to Reunion

Actually, the French Embassy is also organizing “a 29th and 30th special flight” to Saint Denis-Roland Garros airport in Reunion Island.. This has been since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. ” Subject to prior authorization from the ACM and the Malagasy authorities, as well as authorities in Reunion”, we planned these flights on Tuesday 13 April and Thursday 29 April 2021.

Deprived of international flights since the fall 2020, Air Madagascar, for its part, operated a repatriation flight last week from Paris-CDG. By the way, on the domestic market, the authorities suspended, for 15 days, five routes operated by its subsidiary Tsaradia. The line between Antananarivo and Nosy Be is one of them.
