Air : Madagascar Airlines Airbus A340 will take to the air again

Madagascar Airlines Airbus A340 will take to the skies one day. The Malagasy State will pay 5 million dollars for repair and refurbishment. According to Tinoka Roberto Raharoarilala, Minister of Transport and Meteorology, we estimate this recovery in a few months.

Born from the merger with its subsidiary Tsaradia, Air Madagascar became Madagascar Airlines. Since the opening of the borders of 06 last November, it resumed its long-haul flights connecting Madagascar and Europe.

An Air Europa Dreamliner B787-900 has been leased by the company to operate on the Antananarivo-Paris line, under the ACMI formula (crews and insurance) but using the Air Transport Certificate, CTA, d’Air Madagascar.

But the company does not intend to continue leasing this fleet for a longer period of time. Rinah Rakotomanga, vice-president of the Board of Directors of Madagascar Airlines clarified during a television program that "the rental will be for 5 580 dollars per flight hour, an ACMI, including the crew, insurance and maintenance ».

Now, Air Madagascar is officially under judicial protection.

This marks the start of a procedure that, term, will allow the company to continue its operations and prepare for the payment of its debts.

“The merger of Air Madagascar with Tsaradia will enable the pooling of operating costs. And it can benefit travelers and tourists” said Rinah Rakotomanga.

5 million dollars

5 million dollars will be disbursed by the President of the Republic to repair and refurbish the Airbus A340 of Madagascar Airlines. Until then, this plane will fly again.

The rental of the Air Europa Dreamliner should not last, says the Minister of Transport and Meteorology. We will use ours in five months he reassures.

In addition to aircraft repair, several changes within this company will be made, in particular the reduction in the number of staff and the prioritization of the digital era.

Minister Tinoka Roberto recalled that, sometimes, the company's system is failing because of this lack of digitization. Madagascar Airlines will therefore develop an efficient website which will facilitate its communication system as in the case of online reservations.

Transport Terrestre : Fee hike postponed

Transporter cooperatives have taken the decision to increase the cost of transporting taxis-brousse from regional and national areas from the 22 November.

The Minister of Transport and the representatives of the cooperatives agreed a meeting last Thursday (11/11/2021). At this meeting, the latter have postponed this increase in fees.

A special commission is set up to deal with questions related to the new tariffs. It is made up of insurance representatives, auto parts dealers, the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Public Works.

These tariffs will decrease according to Velomanantsoa Rakotoarivelo, Vice-Chairman of Fasan'ny Karana Bus Station Management Committee – Antananarivo (KMMTF).
